Have an idea about something Hechinger Report journalists should  investigate?

We want to know about it.

A good tip will:

  • Tell us who is being harmed and by whom
  • Point out a specific problem
  • Ideally include some evidence or documents to support it
  • Provide your contact information, if you are open to speaking to a reporter

The contact options below are monitored by our investigation team. For other story ideas, pitches, press releases or feedback on our work, please contact staff directly.

What kinds of investigations does Hechinger do?

We are a nonprofit newsroom focused on education, from the early years through college. Within the education realm, we will investigate just about anything that merits digging into, from child care centers to student discipline to cosmetology schools.
