DJ Cashmere is a print and audio journalist who covers education, politics, and culture. His reporting, essays, and criticism have appeared in Guernica, Yes! Magazine, Public Books, Education Week, Radical Teacher, The Millions, and The Village Voice, among others. He holds Master's Degrees in Teaching and Journalism. DJ taught in public and public and public charter schools for eight years in Chicago before moving to New York City. He currently lives with his wife and daughter in Harlem.
