Commentary: The University of Mississippi’s latest “incident” brings both pain and opportunity

So it goes. Another day, another “incident” at the University of Mississippi. This one, as you’ve no doubt heard, involved a noose and Confederate flag draped over the statue of James Meredith, the man who desegregated the University in 1962 by the force of will, courage, and 30,000 federal troops deployed by President Kennedy.
